Bengali Wedding Short Video
The Fabulous Shoma and Christopher’s Hindu Wedding and Reception took place at God’s Own Country, Vivanta by Taj, Kovalam on Tuesday 19th Nov ‘13 – Bengali Wedding Short Video.
Since Shoma West Indian (Bengali) heritage and Christopher (Chris) has a UK background. They decided to respect Family Traditions and Merge their Cultures, choosing a Traditional Hindu Wedding that incorporated spiritual aspects from the European religion.
The Bridesmaids’ and Groomsmen’s attire coordinated to complement each other. The Groomsmen wore different coloured sherwani (suits) with matching Indian shoes. The Bridesmaids wore sarees in various shades of Turquoise, and Matching Jewellery and Bindis.
Chris wore a traditional sherwani (tunic suit) in Gold and Cream. Its embellished with embroidery work, jewels and a red scarf, matching golden Indian shoes. Shoma wore a traditional Indian two piece Lehenga (dress) for the ceremony in deep red which also embellished with Golden Embroidery, Crystals and Red and Gold Jewels.
For the Baraat (groom’s procession) Chris rode a beautifully adorned elephant. His family and friends joined him by dancing through the streets with a loud drum (dhol) and music. Therefore everyone had a great time taking part and they made a fantastic entrance. He received by Shoma’s family and escorted to the Mandap. The Elegant Mandap and Decor also suited their surroundings.
Shoma escorted to the Mandap by her brother in a beautifully decorated country boat. When she reached the mandap, She and Chris exchanged a flower Garland, which signifies the acceptance of each other as life partners.
Reception … Fun and not long enough. As the night unfolded, backyard torches were lit and hence guests enjoyed the relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The weather turned out perfect, and all had a fab day.
